Planting Seeds of Freedom inside Prison Walls
During the COVID-19 pandemic, prison volunteers and the formerly incarcerated produced powerful videos and audio projects at California State Prison-Lancaster (CSP-LAC). The inspirational productions were based on the words of incarcerated thespians (actors and artists).
International “No Labels No Walls” Digital Festival
TheatreWorkers Project participated in the International No Labels No Walls Digital Festival in August 2021. A shared action of creating hope, for justice related themes, using words and art, was the goal.
“The Circle” Selected for Baltimore Micro Film Festival
TheatreWorkers Project is thrilled to announce that “The Circle,” a short co-directed by TWP teaching artists Marlene McCurtis and Alexa Kershner, is an official selection of the Baltimore Micro Film Festival.
Restorative and Transformative Justice Training Grant
TheatreWorkers Project is proud to announce that we have been awarded a contract to provide Restorative and Transformative Justice Training for current Arts in Corrections program providers.
Project Re/Frame Launched
Twelve formerly incarcerated men will collaborate with TWP teaching artists for 12 Saturdays to create an original virtual performance piece.
